Hands up if you’ve ever felt personally victimised by your Bumble date’s, significant other’s, situationship’s, or “I really don’t know what the eff we are’s” inability to come up with a fun date idea?
Yeah, us too. We’ve all been there. Dinner and drinks? Yawn.
How about a date where we skip the awkward dinner chat & the end-of-meal payment panic and go straight to the good part?
Here are some of our favourite date night ideas for fun first dates, long-term relos looking for some spice, people on the brink of a break-up but could be saved with an epic date… or just a night out with your best pal.

Beach date: Head to the beach (where bonfires are allowed, obvs) bring some blankets, and roast marshmallows under the night sky. |

Hilltop picnic: Find a well-lit hilltop overlooking the city. Pack a cute picnic, lay back, turn up the tunes and just enjoy the good vibes. |

Moonlight kayaking or paddleboarding: This one’s not necessarily for beginners (unless you join a tour), but it can be a super fun date idea. Just make sure you have safety gear on, and keep close to the shore. |

Outdoor silent disco: Join a silent disco event or create your own! Extra points if you’re brave enough to do it in a busy public space. |

Backyard glamping: Set up a tent, string some fairy lights, and create an outdoor cinema. It's just like camping, but the bathroom is nearby, and there's zero chance of a possum stealing your popcorn. |

Midnight drive: Flip a coin at each intersection and see where you end up. Discover new places or accidentally drive to another state (maybe not if it’s the first date though…) |

DIY drive-in movie: Find a secluded spot, park the car, and set up your laptop to watch a flick. Just make sure you’re not trespassing – you don’t want the plot twist to involve police knocking on your window. |

Outdoor Bowling: Set up your own outdoor bowling alley. Grab some water bottles (glow sticks inside make them extra fun), and a sturdy ball, and roll away. The only downside is there aren’t any bumpers for those who need them (no shame – we still need them!) |
And that’s it! Just remember to live, laugh and love with safety in mind, and you’re well on your way to an epic date night you’ll both never forget.
