Save the Aussie Bush!

As you know, we love trees.
 
We love stringing up our hammocks between the gums and cracking open a tinny under their shade on a hot summer’s day. We love running our fingers along the scribbly bark, and using our head torches to try and spot powerful owls and greater gliders sitting way up high.
 
We love trees so much that, with your help, we’ve planted over 200,000 of them!
 
But it’s not all good news. Currently, in Australia, 30,000 footy fields of our iconic bushland are logged every single year. The wood from these old forests? It’s turned into wood chips and tomato stakes and shipping palettes. 
 
There are plenty of other options that don’t involve using old forest. That doesn't put our koalas and glossy black cockatoos at an even greater risk of extinction. That’s why there are a bunch of people out there trying to tell the government they can do it a little differently. 
 
At Nakie, we don’t like to get into the stickiness of politics. It’s not our thing. We love the outdoors and we love designing good, long lasting products that make your camping trips all the more comfortable.
 
But we believe in the importance of trees. And for their sake, we’ll put our weight behind a petition that’s designed to save them.
